Vintage Buescher “400″ Tenor Saxophone ***** Sax
Here is an excellent 1966 Buescher "400" tenor sax that plays beautifully, top to bottom note. It has original lacquer, all Buescher snaps and pads, amber rollers, and Norton bronze-phosphor threaded springs. It has a new, custom-fit Phil Barone thin-wall silver plated neck that really makes the horn sing. Felts and corks are good. Intonation is excellent and the tone is deep and warm with just enough "edge" to be interesting. It shows beautiful engraving. Now - the horns blemishes, and there aren't many. There are minor scratches at the thumb rest and at the base of the horn. There are two tiny pencil point dings at the base that could easily be removed, but that aren't visible from more than a couple of feet. There are no repairs or re-solders of any kind. It will come in a non-original case, and we recommend getting a new one as this, although strong and secure, is ugly as a mud fence. If you've wanted a really nice Buescher "400" this might be the one. U.S. buyer to pay $46.00 for shipping and insurance. International buyer pays actual cost of Air Priority shipping and insurance for a 25 pound box with dimensions of 39 X 13 X 15 inches. International buyers can expect to pay $110.00 to $250.00 depending on location, and I believe the maximum insurance available for international shipment is $650, but that would cover any damage that might occur - and there shouldn't be any. Paypal only.
